Officials of the High Authority for the Fight against Corruption of the Republic of Congo Visit CONAC

The members of the Congolese delegation and the management staff of CONAC shared knowledge on the anti-corruption instruments and tools implemented in Cameroon.

On the 15th and 16th of March 2022, the National Anti-Corruption Commission received a high-level delegation from the High Authority for the Fight against Corruption of the Republic of Congo. The delegation, which was led by the High Authority’s Secretary General, came to share Cameroon’s experience in the anti-corruption crusade, for the effective operation of the nascent Congolese anti-corruption organ, born in 2019 from the ashes of its two preceding institutions.
The members of the Congolese delegation and the management staff of CONAC shared knowledge on the anti-corruption instruments and tools implemented in Cameroon, investigation techniques, as well as the ways and means of raising awareness and mobilising citizens against corruption.
The Congolese authorities were convinced that CONAC’s strategies and instruments are effective and that the Institution is credible in the eyes of the public. The delegation promised to carry out more similar initiatives for greater visibility.
During this visit to Cameroon, the Chairman of CONAC seized the opportunity to encourage South-South cooperation in the fight against corruption through the relaunch of the activities of the Network of National Anti-Corruption Institutions of Central Africa (RINAC).
