CONAC’s 5thANTI-CORRUPTION CLINIC RAIDS NORTH REGION
Six arrested and several others to face judicial and administrative sanctions as CONAC concluded investigations in weeklong Anti-Corruption Clinic in the North Region.
The Cameroon National Anti-Corruption Commission, CONAC recently arrested six persons caught red handed in acts of corruption in the North Region, during an operation baptized ‘‘Anti-corruption Clinic’’ which spanned from November 18 to 22, 2024.
The arrests were carried out by separate teams of investigators dispatched to localities such as Pitoa, Guider, Fugil, Touboro and Garoua, the regional capital, where the Commission set up a temporary office.
The culprits are answering charges of corruption, and embezzlement of public funds, notably school registration fees and minimum package, usurpation of title of CONAC staff and use of fake academic certificate, amongst others.
Apart from the arrest CONAC also transmitted reports of its investigations to relevant authorities with recommendations for administrative and legal sanctions.
CONAC Chairman Rev. Dr. Dieudonné MASSI GAMS, lauded the cooperation from Administrative Authorities and the forces of Law and Order in the North Region in the success of the Anti-Corruption Clinic.
