CONAC Reaches Out to Youths at Commonwealth Camp
The National Anti-Corruption Commission of Cameroon, CONAC, took an active part in activities that marked the celebrations of the 2018 edition of the Commonwealth Day in Cameroon.
The biggest shot was at the Commonwealth Camp organised at the National Museum in Yaounde on the 6th and 7th of March, 2018. CONAC occupied a stand at the event. Visitors received information on the activities of CONAC and how they can play an active role in the fight against corruption. Sensitization gadgets such as the CONAC Newsletters, information brochures and flyers were handed to all visitors to the stand. Copies of Cameroon’s Anti-Corruption Status Report for 2016 were also offered to some guests.
Amongst those who visited CONAC’S stand was the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in Charge of Relations with the Commonwealth, H.E. Felix MBAYU. The stop over came shortly after the Minister Delegate launched the exhibition camp that had as objective to promote the growth of small enterprises and start-ups. H.E. Felix MBAYU showed much delight with CONAC’S presence at the exhibition grounds and said it will go a long way to spur the values of integrity in young entrepreneurs as they strive to manage their business.
For over ten minutes, Minister MBAYU was briefed on the activities of the Institution and most especially the implementation of the National Anti-Corruption strategy which seeks to spur Cameroonians of all walks of life to adhere to the anti-corruption drive. The Minister Delegate and his entourage left the stand satisfied and equipped with sensitization gadgets handed them by the by the staff of CONAC at the stand.
The CONAC staff at the Commonwealth Camp equally took the sensitization to other stands as they handed anti-corruption kits to visitors and officials of companies and institutions present.
CONAC’s participation in the commemoration of the 2018 Commonwealth Day was crowned with the presence of the Chairman of CONAC at the celebration of the day on March 12 at the Ministry of External Relations. Prizes were handed to winners of several competitions organised during the Commonwealth week. The Chairman of CONAC was among the dignitaries who handed prizes to laureates.
