15th Commonwealth Regional Conference of the Association of Anti-Corruption Agencies in Commonwealth Africa (AAACoA), Cape Town, South Africa, May 5 to 9, 2025.

Delegates from some 23 Anti-Corruption Agencies (ACAs), from 20 African countries, members of the Commonwealth, will next year converge on Yaounde for their annual meeting. The decision was taken on May 9, 2025, in Cape Town, South Africa at the end of the 15th Commonwealth Regional Conference of the Association of Anti-Corruption Agencies in Commonwealth Africa (AAACoA).
The Chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (CONAC) of Cameroon, Rev. Dr. Dieudonné MASSI GAMS, who led CONAC’s delegation to the Conference, was elated by the choice of Cameroon to host next year’s conference. As the current Vice-Chairman of the Association South Africa is the current Chair), he promised heads of ACAs of the readiness of Cameroon to receive its august guests.
The Cape Town Conference, jointly organised by the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Government of the Republic of South Africa, was placed under the theme “Enhancing an inclusive participation of State and non-State actors to prevent and combat corruption”. Some 200 delegates, including members of the AAACoA, senior South African Government Officials, members of the Diplomatic Corps based in Cape Town, members of relevant international organisations, as well as good governance-focused development partners attended the Conference.
The annual come togethers of heads of ACAs, under the patronage of the Commonwealth, generally offers an occasion for heads of anti-corruption institutions to share best practices on how to tackle systemic corruption and update their knowledge on new corruption trends and modern techniques to combat the ill from good governance experts drawn from the civil society and international organisations.
