BOUMBA AND NGOKO DIVISION RALLIES AGAINST CORRUPTION
Administrative authorities and education stakeholders in the Boumba and Ngoko Division in the East Region of Cameroon have been exhorted to actively participate in the fight against corruption in the country and to denounce perpetrators of corruption to the National Anti-corruption Commission, CONAC, through the Institution’s toll-free number 1517.
The Chairman of the National Anti-corruption Commission, Rev. Dr. Dieudonné MASSI GAMS, has called on the inhabitants of Yokadouma in the Boumba and Ngoko Division of the East Region of Cameroon to be active anti-corruption fighters. He made the appeal during a heavily attended ceremony at the Yokaduma Council premises, to end a 2021 campaign dubbed ‘’If it is not yours, don’t take’’.
The Campaign that was launched in Yoko in the Mbam and Kim Division of the Centre Region, on February 9, 2021, was intended to inculcate values of integrity and an anti-Corruption spirit in pupils and students. It was popularized by the slogan ‘If it is not yours, don’t take’.
Education officials in Yokaduma pledged to reinforce the campaign and the fight against corruption in schools.
CONAC handed out sensitization gadgets and documents to heads of schools to enable them develop strategies to better ensure integrity education in Primary and Secondary schools.
The Senior Divisional Officer for Boumba and Ngoko, Valérie Norbert KUELA, promised to take stringent measures to stamp out corruption in public offices within his area of command. Meanwhile, anti- corruption notices were put up on walls of buildings hosting public offices in Yokaduma, by CONAC workers.
