CONAC AT WAR WITH FAKE CERTICATES AT THE START OF THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC YEAR
The National anti- Corruption of Cameroon, CONAC , on Tuesday, October 22, 202, launched a nationwide campaign against the use of fake certificates. The campaign targets students who resort to the fabrication of fake certificates to gain recruitment especially into the public service. Messages on the implications, in the use of fake certificates, which has become a major preoccupation in recruitments into the public service, in the country, were popularised.
Launching the campaign at the University of Yaounde 1, the Chairman of CONAC, Rev Dr Dieudonné, MASSI GAMS said students must strive for excellence and uphold integrity. He called on them to be active in the fight against corruption in the country in order to guarantee a better future.
The rector of the University of Yaoundé One, Prof. Remy Magloire ETOUA, warned against the fabrication of fake academic certificates and urged students and the University administration to guard against the practice which he described as a deterrent to professional and intellectual development in the country.
Anti-corruption boards bearing the campaign message were planted in strategic corners of the University of Yaounde One campus as well as flyers distributed to students.
The campaign continued to public and private university campuses across the country with sensitisation and the putting up of anti-corruption boards.
