Women and the fight against corruption: CONAC takes women of Mayo Banyo to task

Caravans to raise awareness among women crisscrossed the streets of Bankim, Banyo and Mayo Darlé in celebration of the 40th International Women’s Day.
CONAC chose the 5th of March, 2025, to remind women of their ability to inject fresh impetus into the anti-corruption drive in Cameroon. The campaign was launched by the Chairman of CONAC, Rev Dr Dieudonné MASSI GAMS, and the Sub-Divisional Officer of Mayo Darlé, MOHAMMADOU OUSMANOU, at the Festivity Square in Mayo Banyo, Adamaoua Region, on 5th March, during the Women’s Week, in the presence of the Mayor of Mayo Darlé, DADDA FATIMATOU ALIOU.
Speaking to the women gathered for the event, the Chairman of CONAC said: “If educating a woman means educating an entire nation, then women’s ownership of the fight against corruption is undoubtedly one of the most effective ways of eradicating this scourge in Cameroon”.
At the same time, more than three hundred women leaders of women’s networks and associations led awareness-raising marches through the streets of Mayo Darlé, Banyo and Bankim, calling on all Cameroonian women to break the chain of corruption by positively shaping the lives of their children, spouses and other relatives.
