Bilingualism Practice: Efforts of CONAC Lauded

Two members of the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism (NCPBM) were at the National Anti-Corruption Commission (CONAC) on Thursday, March 17, 2022, to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the national policy on the promotion of official languages in the Institution.

The Mission, headed by Mr. Benjamin ITOE, had as member Mr. MBAFOR Jean Marc AFESI. They started off with a tour of the Divisions and Services of CONAC to evaluate the level of bilingualism of the staff. Thereafter, they met with the Chairman, the Vice Chairman and officials of the different Divisions and Services, for a working session in the Conference Hall of CONAC.
During the working session, Mr Benjamin ITOE lauded efforts made by the hierarchy of the National Anti-Corruption Commission to promote bilingualism in the Institution, notably by encouraging staff top fine tune their skills in their second official language at the Yaounde Linguistic Pilot Centre.
At the end of the meeting, the Head of delegation of the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism expressed satisfaction at the level of bilingualism at CONAC. He congratulated the Chairman of CONAC for ensuring that all documents meant for the general public, such as the Annual Anti-Corruption Status Reports, are released in the English and French languages simultaneously.
