Fight against corruption: Faith-based Approach

Lutte Contre la Corruption : La solution par la foi

CONAC and religious institutions commit Cameroon’s fight against corruption to God.

CONAC’s celebration of the 2018 International Anti-Corruption Day last December 9, 2018 was rooted in prayers, as representatives of religious institutions implored the Almighty to purge the country of the ill of corruption which has gripped the country and brought untold suffering to Cameroonians.

In their opening prayers, the trio; Mgr Kala Benoit, SG of the National Episcopal Conference, Cheik Ibrahim MOUSSA, Grand Imam of Yaounde (now of late) and Rev. Dr Paul NDENDE NGANDO, SG of CEPCA, offered humble supplications against corruption which wounds the hearts and souls of Cameroonians leading to social death and other forms of untold misery. They also interceded for a reconciliation of hearts and for God to lead, carry, bless and protect Cameroonians.

In turns, representatives from various Christian denominations and Islam faithful, rose to the rostrum, with a multitude of prayer requests: wisdom for those governing the country, importance of living a life of integrity, for civil servants to work in abnegation and devotedness, for peace, unity, safety, security, stability and reconciliation, for selfless and sacrificial leaders, as well as for an awakening of consciences of the pain inflicted by corruption on afflicted victims. To crown the prayers banishing corruption in all its forms in the national territory, it was in unison that all present rose to their feet to denounce corruption, as they repeatedly chanted “Non à la corruption”!!!
